The iSLanDS Institute is based at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston, UK. With our international academic team, we conduct research and teaching in sign linguistics and deaf studies on a global scale. Our staff and students come from countries such as Germany, India, Japan and the USA, and most are deaf. This blog aims to give an insider’s perspective on the day-to-day reality of our research.
