Sign language endangerment work highlighted by UK research council

We are delighted to share that our research has been highlighted in an impact report by a major UK research council. Last week, the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) published its 2014/15 Impact Report, including iSLanDS’s work on endangered sign languages on page 27. The report offers examples of scholars making societal, economic and academic impacts through AHRC-funded research, and reflects the range of AHRC’s work in collaborative initiatives across the public, private and third sectors; driving methodological advances; and supporting skills for knowledge exchange.

These efforts and recognition would not be possible without our expert deaf collaborators and other associates from around the globe. We would like to thank all of our colleagues and partners for helping to generate this work that is being seen as evidence of the value of arts and humanities research funding.
