We are so pleased that our visiting PhD student, Makoto Iwayama, has been featured in this month’s issue of the British Deaf News. He gives a fascinating insight into the Japanese Deaf community and discusses his doctoral research into support for deaf people in the workplace. Makoto is a student at the University of Kagoshima in southern Japan. He is currently on a one-year study visit at iSLanDS in order to investigate British employment support services for Deaf and HOH workers. He can be contacted at k2592536@kadai.jp.
