iSLanDS International Open Day
The iSLanDS International Open Day took place on Saturday 2nd July and was attended by approximately forty delegates from across the UK and further afield. The topic of the day was ”The Impact of Academic Research on Deaf Communities” and several presentations were given, affording the delegates an insight into the various research projects. The unusually sunny day allowed us the opportunity to gather outside for our coffee breaks and lunch.
A film entitled ”I STUDY CAN”, a film from India created by Deaf students undertaking a BA programme was shown and had a big impact on the audience.
The enduring theme of the day was international partnership which highlighted the importance of continuing to work together to achieve our research aims.
